About

I am Mariah, I was born in Australia and grew up in a small country town. After school I studied PR and Journalism at university and moved to the city. After studying I got a job in PR and communications and that always turned into a marketing role as well.

I love writing, always enjoyed writing and had my own travel blog from 2014 (I also started a podcast on my life in 2018). I loved to travel overseas and when I realised my job couldn't cover my travel expenses I started freelancing on Fiverr. I did press releases and blogs. Overtime I worked out this could become a full-time career for me and this job would allow me to have a lot more flexibility.

So I started Content Queen, my side hustle. During the pandemic, I had more financial freedom to be able to leave my full-time job so I did. I started working in my agency in 2020 full time. I was, however, held back in 2021 when I found out I had 2 tumours and needed major surgery. This set me back in my business but once I was better gave me more passion and drive to move forward.

After the pandemic, I started travelling full time, first in Australia and then around the world. My partner and I have been all over Europe, South East Asia and South America! We love travel and love to help our clients create more freedom with their own business. 

Career

At Content Queen Mariah I am the head Content Marketing Strategist and Creator. I work with small business owners and entrepreneurs create content across blogs, podcasts, email marketing, video format and social media. I love working on storytelling and strategy, they are core strengths of mine. I have been in the marketing space for 8 years now and also have a background in journalism and PR.

Since working in my business I have helped hundreds of business owners with marketing, have helped with lead generation, traffic growth and personal brand building. I love writing as well and helped bring to live the purpose of entrepreneurs in the content form.

Time slots: 30 minutes

Virtual Career Tour: Through video chat, I will walk you through what I do for a living —covering job responsibilities, how to get started, the skills you’ll need, educational paths, insights from my own experience, etc. I'll answer as many of your questions as I can and share practical advice to help you take the next steps if this path aligns with your goals! 

Many of my career responsibilities and insights are applicable worldwide, regardless of where you’re located. While I can share general advice and insights, I am unable to provide region-specific legal, tax, or business setup guidance. However, I can guide you through industry best practices and offer practical steps that are not location-specific.
