About
Hi, I’m Talia! I’m a Toronto native and began my creative journey when I was as young as 2 years old. I’ve been enrolled in multiple art classes for my entire life, and I’ve practiced creative writing when I was in elementary school. As a neurodivergent child with a huge imagination, I’d make up stories in my diary and on single sheets of paper. Creative writing and making art were my two main creative modalities, and they still are to this day!
As a free-spirited young woman with a huge imagination, a bubbly personality, an inclusive mindset, and a zest for life, I believe that my creative endeavours will inspire others to be creative and unleash their hidden talents. I believe customers will have the chance to develop a meaningful relationship with me, as I’m someone who loves connecting with people and sharing my passions and story. I always have something interesting to offer, so people can learn something new and become a better version of themselves every day. I also believe that anyone can do what they put their minds to, regardless of their abilities and circumstances. Life is too short to not do what you truly love to do.
I usually write about spirituality, nature, peace, psychology, personal development, neurodiversity, mental health, addictions, sense of self, trauma, and travel. I also write the odd arts and crafts tutorial for various DIY projects I create. I utilize songs I listen to, references from childhood TV shows and movies I’ve watched, photos of plants and animals, my childhood memories, memories of travelling to different places across the globe, my emotions and thoughts, my personality, and my massive thesaurus of words of wisdom as writing inspiration. I’ve written poems in English, Tagalog, Russian, German, Hebrew, Swedish, and Tatar.
I sell and produce handmade keychains, fidget toys, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, chokers, fuse bead figures, charms, straps, and jewellery sets. All of my products are customizable to give customers flexibility and freedom. I would run the odd workshop and class for people of all ages in the community and online. As my business continues to grow, I’m always coming up with new ideas, products, and services to better serve people in my country and around the world. When I’m not writing or making DIY items, I’m usually sticking my nose in a good book or poem, listening to music, hanging out with my friends and family, painting, drawing, watching YouTube, meditating, daydreaming, making music, walking outside, taking photographs, doing aerobics, studying foreign languages, baking, cooking, dining out, and visiting various tourist attractions in the Greater Toronto Area. I also love to travel, but I don’t get to do it very often. I’m also a recreation provider for my municipality and after school program staff at my childhood place of worship.
Career
I love that I get to inspire at least one person every day, even if it’s from afar. Every single person who sees me thrive at my workplace, at open mic poetry events, at small business markets, on social media and in the community encourages me to not give up! Magical things happen when you don’t give up, so the more I do, the better I will become. People are proud of me every day, even if they are quietly proud of me! I also love that I get to be my true self while earning a living and making ends meet. All of my DIY goods and literary works have been recognized by people around the world, and I barely get any hate for my work. People admire my creative talents and use that as inspiration. During the pandemic, I’ve written on online platforms and some of my stories, guides, and poems have been featured on platforms and share on multiple social media sites. I haven’t received any physical awards yet, people are praising me every single day! That’s just as meaningful as receiving a physical certificate of achievement. I’ve published two poetry books Up and Down the Ladder and Scrapbook, which can be found in Amazon. I’m currently working on my third book, a YA historical fiction novel-in-verse based on the events that occurred before, during, and after October 7th in Israel. I’ve had my poems published in a book called The Covenant of Justice, and in different magazines. I use Microsoft Word, Canva, and social media to create and advertise high quality literary work and DIY content. This way, I can stand out even more!
The more knowledge you have, the more confident you will become. The more inspiration you receive, the more inspired you will come!
