About

I am a native Floridian who earned my BFA from Florida Southern College in 2006 and an MFA from Florida Atlantic University in 2017. In addition to Graduate Teaching Assistantship in the MFA program, I have been awarded the Provost Fellowship, two Graduate Advisory Board Grants, a Friedland Grant, a Rothenberger Scholarship, an Ambassador of the Arts Scholarship, and was twice awarded a Women in the Visual Arts Scholarship.

I'm a painter, sometimes on fabric, sometimes on walls! You can find me listening to true crime podcasts, on a ladder, vigorously applying more sunscreen (they don't call Florida the sunshine state for nothing!), ferrying my 6 y/o to and from her extracurriculars, and at least 1-3 sports teams in the Tampa Bay area.

I don't buy into the starving artist ethos and preach passionately about living creatively, with purpose. I want to share in the joy that painting for a living brings to me.

I love to learn about EVERYTHING (enneagram 5), and am happiest when I eat a peanut butter waffle each morning. I love a cozy mystery, love to walk and am at the gym most days of the week. I am a surprisingly organized artist, which people often point out. I've never met a pair of jeans I like and would love for you to meet our big goofy dog, Sadie. I live in Tampa, Fl with my husband and daughter where we play a lot of games for elementary-aged kids. My biggest values are freedom and growth. I get anxious when I can’t paint.

Career

I have exhibited my work at the ARC Gallery in Chicago, The Cornell Museum in Delray Beach, the Box Gallery in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. I studied in workshops with Julian Schnabel and Steven Assael. In 2016 I worked at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, FL in museum education, furthering my passion for teaching. I am certified to teach Art K-12 and taught K-5 Art for the past five years in the Tampa area.

In 2022, I quit teaching full time to create custom art. You can find me painting walls and canvas in the Tampa Bay area. I have since been featured on Daytime on Channel 8, Fox 13 Tampa Bay, and Creative Loafing. My work has been licensed by Home Goods and illustrated a children's book "Down in the Pasture", published in August 2023.

My recent portrait paintings juxtapose craft and crushingly lovely figure painting in my favorite medium, oil paint.

I am passionate about debunking the starving artist myth and want to share in the joy that painting for a living brings me.

I specialize in: painting murals and all the technical aspects around that, defining success on your own terms and creating financial goals around that, pitching (to clients, news outlets, etc.), creating digital mock ups, pricing murals and canvas commissions and finding new customers, and contracts.
