About
Kyla is the founder of Kyla Yager Artwork. She is an Intuitive ADHD Visual Artist, working from her Toronto-based home studio in acrylics and mixed media. She was born and raised in New Orleans, started her art business in her hometown in January 2020, and in her 5th year of business, sustains herself as a full-time professional artist. When not in her studio, Kyla works throughout the GTA Live Painting, Face Painting, facilitating Workshops, and exhibiting in local art fairs, galleries, and markets.
I am a formally trained and self-taught visual artist across many mediums. Over the years, I have developed a personal signature style that I categorize as Intuitive ADHD Art: I intuitively utilize my ADHD, Mental Health, and Sexuality to guide my paintbrush. My style is a cross between abstract, cubism, surrealism, and psychedelic art. I have also been a soccer coach for 14 years, and a workshop facilitator and educator going on 6 years. I truly enjoy giving advice and guidance to beginner and emerging artists on letting go of perfectionism and strictly following passion.
Career
I couldn't imagine doing anything other than what I love everyday. By strictly following my passions, I am able to focus more on what gives me natural fulfillment, rather than mindless busy work for someone else's passion. Since starting my business 4.5 years ago, I have hosted 5 solo exhibitions, organized multiple events, and been featured in galleries and exhibitions in Toronto, Montreal, and New Orleans. Since taking my art career full-time 1 year ago, I have won "Best in Show" in an art fair, was featured in Nuit Blanche 2023 (largest outdoor art exhibition in North America), and won Art Battle Toronto in May 2024. I am beyond grateful to be able to do what I love everyday.

Time slots: 30 minutes
Virtual Career Tour: Through video chat, I will walk you through what I do for a living —covering job responsibilities, how to get started, the skills you’ll need, educational paths, insights from my own experience, etc. I'll answer as many of your questions as I can and share practical advice to help you take the next steps if this path aligns with your goals!
Many of my career responsibilities and insights are applicable worldwide, regardless of where you’re located. While I can share general advice and insights, I am unable to provide region-specific legal, tax, or business setup guidance. However, I can guide you through industry best practices and offer practical steps that are not location-specific.
