About
I’m a retired vet tech turned dog trainer and canine nutritionist, and I host The Dog Who Asked for More. I live with two big-feeling dogs, Toby (the potato dog) and Fitz (the sensitive soul who changed my entire life). I’m someone who will stop mid-sentence to point out a dog across the street, cry over a breakthrough moment with a reactive dog, and happily spend a Friday night making enrichment boxes. Fun fact: I’m about to take my podcast on the road in an RV so I can meet pet parents and dogs across the country.
How I Got Started
I didn’t set out to become a dog trainer or host a podcast. I actually started as a veterinary technician, and for years I thought that was the forever path. But after a major medical crisis and surgery, I could no longer safely work hands-on in vet med. I felt lost, disconnected, and like I had to completely rebuild myself.
Everything changed when I adopted Fitz — a reactive, anxious dog who challenged every bit of “traditional” training I thought I understood. Helping him meant unlearning old rules, relearning communication, and finding new ways to support his nervous system through enrichment and nutrition.
What started as trying to save my dog became realizing how many dog parents were silently struggling with the same things. That’s what pushed me to launch The Dog Who Asked for More and eventually become a trainer, nutritionist, and educator. I didn’t choose this work — it chose me. And it came from living through the exact chaos, guilt, and overwhelm my clients feel today.
Career
My work is really about helping people feel less alone in their struggles with their dogs. I’m a dog trainer, canine nutritionist, enrichment specialist, and the host of The Dog Who Asked for More — but at the heart of it, I’m someone who had to learn everything the hard way.
Supporting reactive, anxious, misunderstood dogs isn’t just a career for me — it’s personal. Fitz and Toby have shaped every part of my philosophy, and helping dog parents feel seen, supported, and understood is the most meaningful part of what I do.
Every time a pet parent says, “I finally feel like I’m not failing,” or “This finally makes sense,” it reminds me why I do this. My achievements matter — certifications, podcast growth, partnerships — but nothing compares to helping a human-dog relationship heal.
