About
Hi, I’m Katie Rodgers-Hubbard – life enthusiast, wedding reception dancer, Leslie Knope wannabe, and proud owner of Lite Foot Company, Savannah’s go-to sustainable refillery.
A few years ago, I embarked on a journey to live more sustainably. Spoiler alert: it’s not always easy! That’s why I created Lite Foot Company—to support individuals and communities in navigating their own sustainability journeys without the overwhelm. I firmly believe that every small step counts, and I’m here to help people take those steps confidently.
As a business owner, I’ve built Lite Foot Company from the ground up, starting with pop-up markets and expanding into wholesale partnerships and a brick-and-mortar storefront. Along the way, I’ve established multiple revenue streams beyond just selling products. Lite Foot Company offers shelf rental space for other small businesses, hosts workshops and community events, and features consignment sales from local makers. This diverse approach has helped me build a resilient, community-focused business.
Why book a session with me? I offer real-world, hands-on advice for aspiring entrepreneurs interested in building sustainability-focused businesses. Whether you're dreaming of opening a refillery, expanding your revenue streams, building a brand with a loyal social media following, or balancing the challenges of pop-ups and brick-and-mortar operations, I’ve been there—and I’d love to help you get there, too.
Oh, and if you love brainstorming big ideas over coffee or planning meticulously like it’s a Parks & Rec episode, we’ll get along just fine. Let’s build something sustainable together!
Career
I’m the Founder and Owner of Lite Foot Company, Georgia’s first sustainable refillery. When I moved to Savannah, I was in desperate need of a place to shop sustainably—but there wasn’t one. My background was in higher education, and I had zero experience running a retail business. But I was driven by a passion for sustainability and a goal: to create a space where my community could shop with intention and learn why sustainable living matters.
I took an educational approach to building Lite Foot Company. It’s not just a store; it’s a hub for learning and empowerment. Every product we carry has a story, and I’m committed to helping our customers understand the why behind the choices they make. From reducing single-use plastics to supporting local makers, we’re here to make sustainability accessible, relatable, and achievable for everyone.
After three years of growing Lite Foot Company, we expanded our mission by launching Lite Foot Foundation, a nonprofit focused on reducing plastic waste and advocating for sustainable solutions across Savannah. Through the foundation, we host educational events, collaborate with local organizations, and develop initiatives that drive meaningful change in our community.
In almost four years of running Lite Foot Company, we’ve:
- Diverted over 50,000 plastic bottles from landfills.
- Spoken at more than 50 events to raise awareness about sustainability.
- Collaborated with over 40 local businesses to promote eco-friendly practices.
- Joined the board of the Downtown Business Association, where I now advise on sustainability initiatives to help shape a greener future for Savannah’s business community.
What I love most about my role is seeing the ripple effect of our work. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch customers transform their habits, businesses adopt more sustainable practices, and our community come together to support a shared mission.
Running Lite Foot Company has been a journey of learning, growth, and resilience. I didn’t start with all the answers, but I built this business with heart, determination, and a commitment to making sustainability a way of life—not just for me, but for everyone in our community.
