About
I was born and raised in Toronto Canada from immigrant Chinese parents, so imagine the horror to them both when I decided to pursue art after high-school, graduating in Illustration from the Ontario College of Art & Design. Out of all the things I loved to draw, it's letters that fascinated me most as a child after discovering bubble letters in grade 4. It was then I realized that the style of each letter could dictate a visual feeling, cute, fancy, modern etc.
Career
As a calligrapher and hand lettering artist, I know my role is in the details. Creating special pieces for their big event and day, designing and lettering signage that is functional and beautiful for a business, and building a relationship between a brand and it's customer with a memorable experience, that is what lettering can do. My role for Love Lettering is every role. From admin, to book-keeping to social media to design and final execution, it is all me. I knew early on that to grow sometimes means to have help, but I also realized that growing must be with purpose, and not fueled by ego to just become bigger.
My success is measured by balance and flexibility for my family as well as my clients. Since opening our doors we have had many amazing moments such as becoming a published author in 2017 with my book Extraordinary Hand Lettering, having a solo art exhibition called Bottled Feelings funded by a successful kickstarter that raised over 15K, and have worked with clients such as Sephora, Michaels, Burberry, Moët & Chandon, Miu Miu, Glenlivet and many more.

Virtual Career Tour: Through video chat, I will walk you through what I do for a living —covering job responsibilities, how to get started, the skills you’ll need, educational paths, insights from my own experience, etc. I'll answer as many of your questions as I can and share practical advice to help you take the next steps if this path aligns with your goals!
Many of my career responsibilities and insights are applicable worldwide, regardless of where you’re located. While I can share general advice and insights, I am unable to provide region-specific legal, tax, or business setup guidance. However, I can guide you through industry best practices and offer practical steps that are not location-specific.
