I’m Lofton Etheridge, travel and lifestyle blogger, columnist, mindset consultant, and your go-to girl for building a bold, beautiful life. I'm the voice behind American Girl Meets World and The World, According to Lofton, my blog and personal column where I explore the magic and messiness of travel, risk-taking, and rewriting the rules.

I’ve lived in Los Angeles, and now I’m living abroad in Valencia. Moving overseas taught me there’s an entire world waiting once you stop waiting for “the right time.” That leap sparked something deeper in me: the desire to help other women explore, elevate, and expand their lives too, on their own terms.

My work is deeply rooted in living mindfully, holistically, and intentionally. I believe the way you spend your days becomes your life, so I’m all about creating space for presence, joy, and curiosity. I’m a big fan of yoga, reading books that make you feel seen, and quiet mornings that don’t involve rushing anywhere.

When I’m not writing or consulting, you can probably find me stretching out on a mat, journaling with a matcha latte, or daydreaming about my “fallback” dream job, becoming a flight attendant. Because let’s be real: I’d still find a way to turn it into a story. 

How I Got Started

I stumbled into the world of travel and lifestyle blogging almost by accident. It wasn’t a grand plan, it kind of naturally fell into my lap, and I decided to go with it. Life has a funny way of nudging you out of your comfort zone: it pushed me out of one city and into a whole new country. Experiencing that shift firsthand opened my eyes, broadened my horizons, and gave me a fresh perspective I couldn’t wait to share. From there, writing became a way to capture not just the places I visited, but the culture, lifestyle, and stories that make each destination unique.

Career

What I do is part storytelling, part soul work, and 100% aligned with how I’m meant to show up in the world.

I help people see their lives and the world with fresh eyes. Whether I’m writing a personal essay for my column, The World, According to Lofton, sharing insights on my blog American Girl Meets World, or working one-on-one with women in transition, my goal is the same: to inspire bold moves, honest reflection, and intentional living.

What I love most about this role is the freedom to live, write, and create from experience. I’ve built a life that blends creativity, movement, connection, and growth, and I get to guide others as they build theirs too. There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching someone go from “I’m stuck” to “I’m finally doing it.”

Some of my proudest achievements include:

• Launching a personal column in a local newspaper
• Helping women confidently make big life shifts (like moving abroad or launching something new)
• Growing a platform rooted in honesty, vulnerability, and expansion

This work isn’t just content, it’s community, clarity, and confidence. It’s storytelling with a purpose. I don’t just help people book flights, I help them come home to themselves, wherever they are in the world.
