How to Embody Black Cat Energy in Your Business and Life
💖 In which ways are you EXCLUSIVE with your time & energy?
As I currently build my 2nd small business, one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to choose wisely the people, tasks, and habits that I give to.
In the small business world, I often see people advocating for inclusivity when it comes to our time and energy.
“Be open to all opportunities that come your way.”
“Attract as many people as possible to your platform.”
“Take the time to respond to all your DMs.”
“Always be friendly and approachable.”
My experiences have shown me how important it is to understand my core values, build a brand that reflects those values, and pursue ONLY the people and opportunities that align with those values.
- When we partner with people who share our values, we know we can endlessly collaborate without ever compromising on the core of who we are.
- When we pick tasks that fit our personality, we know we're building a solid foundation that we genuinely enjoy.
If we’re a match, great. If we’re not, there’s no need.
Our brand is our house:
Who and what are you allowing into your home? How much of your authentic presence can you give each of your guests?
I am currently renovating my business to honor my values more deeply - this has caused some partnerships to fall through, strengthened others, and is slowing down the growth of my business right now.
But I believe that staying true to who we are - even if it initially limits our income or slows our progress - is what builds loyalty, trust, and authentic connections that last.
Reflection:
What’s something in your life - an energy, pattern, person, routine - that doesn’t need to take up so much space in your life? Is there anything in your life that isn’t a true reflection of who you are at your core?
